Taittinger Royal Solent Yacht Club Regatta 2021 back on the calender

Following the cancellation of the 2020 event, the Taittinger Royal Solent Yacht Club Regatta 2021 is set for the weekend of Friday 16th to Sunday 18th July in the Western Solent.

In 2019, 214 boats raced over two days at the regatta and this year's event has already attracted 170 registrations of interest.

Champagne Taittinger, the long-standing title sponsor is joined by the River Yar Boatyard and Wight Marine as supporting sponsors.

Onshore entertainment for competitors, their family and friends is integral to the regatta's success. In a joint statement, the Royal Solent Yacht Club and Champagne Taittinger confirmed their commitment: "We are delighted that there is every indication we will be able to host our annual Taittinger Regatta this year having had to cancel last year. We are looking forward to welcoming both new and returning boats to Yarmouth for a competitive and thrilling weekend of racing alongside our popular onshore events, whilst respecting any government guidance that may be in place at that time."

The regatta's organisers continue to monitor the UK's social, sports and entertainment guidelines, and the Royal Solent Yacht Club will publish the event's Notice of Race online next week (12-16 April), followed by the launch of online regatta entry in the latter half of April.
