Record-breaking ocean sailor Dee Caffari MBE will be Guest Speaker at the 2026 RORC Annual Dinner and Prize-Giving on Saturday 14 November.
Few sailors can match Caffari's offshore achievements. She has circumnavigated the world seven times and made history as the first woman to sail solo, non-stop around the world against the prevailing winds and currents, an achievement for which she was awarded an MBE.
Most recently, she was part of The Famous Project, the first all-female crew to complete a non-stop circumnavigation aboard a multihull.
But Caffari also has a remarkable connection with RORC racing, making her a particularly fitting speaker for an evening celebrating an exceptional season and the 50th anniversary Round Britain and Ireland Race.
Five times around Britain and Ireland
Caffari has competed in the Round Britain and Ireland Race five times. In 2014 she was part of the all-women Team SCA crew that set the female-crewed monohull record for the 1,805nm course—a record that still stands. In 2022 she returned to race double-handed with double Olympic gold medallist Shirley Robertson aboard the Sun Fast 3300 Rockit. From racing around Britain and Ireland on a fully-crewed Volvo Ocean 65 to taking on the same formidable course with just two sailors aboard a 33-footer, Caffari knows exactly what makes this race so special.
Fastnet. Transatlantic. Caribbean 600—Caffari's RORC story goes much further.
In the stormy 2023 Rolex Fastnet Race she raced aboard Clarke Murphy's VO65 Team Jajo, winning IRC Super Zero and finishing second overall under IRC.
In 2024 she co-skippered the MOD70 Limosa – The Famous Project with Alexia Barrier in the RORC Transatlantic Race. The campaign formed part of the team's development towards its ultimate goal: racing non-stop around the world aboard the Ultim IDEC Sport. That ambition became reality in January 2026 with the historic all-female circumnavigation. And within weeks, Caffari was racing with RORC again, taking on the 2026 RORC Caribbean 600 aboard the Swan 58 WaveWalker.

The RORC Annual Dinner and Prize-Giving is one of the biggest nights in the Club calendar, bringing together members, competitors and friends to celebrate the people and performances that have made the season.
The 2026 Dinner will celebrate the winners of the RORC Season's Points Championship, the Club's major annual awards and an historic 50th anniversary edition of the Round Britain and Ireland Race.
Over dinner, Dee will share stories and racing insights from an extraordinary career at sea—from RORC racing to seven laps of the planet.
