Friday’s Attica Warm-up Race featured 14 teams that took advantage of perfect practice conditions to test themselves and their systems prior to the start of the AEGEAN 600 on Sunday. On the 7.7 mile course Russell Whitworth’s team on the Pac 52 FINAL FINAL (USA) scored best, followed by George Procopiou’s Volvo 70 AIOLOS (GRE) and Peter Steinkogler’s Italia 11.98 SUSANO’O (GRE) in third.
“We are all very excited to be back for this year’s race,” said Frederic Puzin, Skipper of the Carkeek 54 DAGUET 5 (FRA). “Such wonderful weather and such great competitors.”
Viktor Sakharov, Skipper of the Salona 38 VALENTINA (TUR), is here for the first time with this boat but competed here 2 years ago. He said “This was a good time for us to improve some things, check everything in our systems to be safe in this race. It’s good, we’re happy to be here.”

The AEGEAN 600 is organized by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club (HORC), in co-organization with the Region of Attica and Olympic Marine, with the support of the Ministry of Education Religious Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Tourism and the General Secretariat of Sports.
